Welcome to the Tour de Cashiers

Welcome to the 2008 Tour de Cashiers

Thank you for visiting. The Tour de Cashiers (TdC) is located in the beautiful town of Cashiers, NC. The TdC offers many wonderful bike rides around the scenic mountains of Western North Carolina. We look forward to seeing you ride in the 2008 Tour de Cashiers.

The 2008 event will be on Sunday, April 13, 2008.

Times:

  • 7:30AM - Registration at the Village Green
  • 8:45AM - Riders Meeting
  • 9:00AM - 100, 62, and 25 mile start
  • 9:15AM - 11 mile start

Web Site Updates:

  • 4/12/08 - The latest forecast is for dry but cool weather at the start, with a chance of a few showers in the afternoon. The start-time temperature is expected to be around 40, rising to the high 40's during the afternoon. So layers will be needed. The Tour will likely have the post-Ride meal (and live entertainment) indoors, so that riders can comfortably hang around for the food, music and camaraderie. The indoor location would be the Cashiers Community Center, which is on the route into town, about 1/4 mile from the Crossroads. Info about the final arrangements will be provided at the Start.

We will update the weather forecast later today.

We're all looking forward to a great ride, and a great turnout for the 16th Tour de Cashiers. Our volunteer corps is in place to provide great support, and we hope to see you Sunday morning. Or if you'll be in town for the weekend, be sure to come to the gourmet pasta dinner (with another live band) from 6 to 9 on Saturday. This event may also be held at the Community Center, if the weather is too cool and breezy for an outside evening -- just check by the Village Green to see whether it is there or down the road. $10 for riders, $12 for others.
  • The start times are later this year, so please note these.
  • Registration is now available

Director’s Message:
The 2007 event was a great event. As with 2006, the weather kept some of the riders away, but those who rode really enjoyed it. They all said it was difficult but a great event.

Tour de Tuck:
For those of you that enjoy cycling in scenic and mountainous Jackson County, please come back in September for the Tour de Tuck. There will a metric and a century course.
