Our Family Fun ride avoids the lengthy climbs and intense descents of the longer rides, but don’t be fooled – you can’t avoid going up and down in the mountains. The 350’ climb at the start of the ride is the toughest challenge. After that, it’s not exactly all downhill, but you can be confident you can handle everything to come. You get a nice descent, a cruise by Hurricane Falls and along the southern shores of Lake Glenville, lots of woods and a few pastures as you ramble through the early mountain community of Norton, and a final few mostly, downhill miles back to the Village Green. Riders will have plenty of time to rest or enjoy the sights. It’s a great opportunity for the not-so-serious cyclist to experience the joys of road biking on our Plateau, or to introduce younger riders to the pleasures and challenges of two-wheel touring.
